This position is based in Cape town. We are looking for a candidate who enjoys being operational and likes to get their hands dirty. You will look after two stores for a very large retail group. Their head office is based in the Gauteng area, you would ideally have articles and some post article experience in either retail or in FMCG. You must have supervised people because you will supervise people in each of the stores. In each store there is a BCom articles financial accountant and a team of plus minus 4 to 5 financial staff. It is essential you understand stock, enjoy operations but are also able to report the results to the Johannesburg head office. The group is able to offer growth.

This position requires you to have a BCom three-year Cost accounting qualification or CIMA. It is essential that you have factory experience with standard costing, understand bill of materials, yet you can manage the income statement deal and interact with operations, logistics and the technical division. You need to have experience in either a manufacturing or a FMG environment. At least five years plus required of senior costing experience. With JDE or similar ERP package. This is a diverse and large company. They are looking to grow this costing position into the commercial manager role. So they need a highly competent individual. Financial reporting pack reviews for several business units. Cashflow management for several business units. Monthly VAT return for several business units. You would work closely with head office and unit-based staff members. You need to have proven business and commercial acumen and well as leadership and people development skills.
