This is a manufacturing environment, and it is critical to intimately understand the process. From raw materials to finished product, all the way through logistics to delivery. A savvy FM to identify opportunities to price accurately, and seek opportunities to reduce costs. Understanding the reasons for variances in the manufacturing process, and proactively identifying amber flagsand propose solutions to rectifying as quickly as possible. Although the manufacturing is on site, some raw materials are internationally sourced. International customers means that the FM must be extremely comfortable with Foreign Currency, and FEC contracts. There are 2 very capable accountants in the business who ensure that the reporting is up to scratch. The business needs this role to prepare board reports, but the role is operational and reporting. The candidate needs to be able to draw insights from the data, apply commercial acumen to use that information to improve the business. This role handles payroll and, processing tax submissions to SARS, but need to have the personality to lead the finance team. The environment is tough. You need to be able to do a full analysis of all factory variances in order to support the financial manager.
