Group Accountant – CA(SA) | Melrose | R950 000

A highly professional and ethics-driven organisation is seeking a Group Accountant (CA(SA)) to join its finance team in Melrose.

Reporting directly to the Group Executive, you will play a key role in ensuring that all group entities comply with their financial reporting and statutory obligations. This position offers exposure to group reporting, consolidations, technical accounting matters, and strategic finance projects within a well-governed corporate environment.

The organisation is looking for a technically strong CA(SA) with listed company experience, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to take initiative in a fast-paced finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare financial information, calculations, and departmental reports for group entities
  • Ensure compliance with:
    • International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
    • The Companies Act
    • Other relevant regulatory requirements
  • Support group reporting and consolidation processes
  • Assist with technical accounting matters and financial analysis
  • Contribute to finance projects and business improvement initiatives
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure reporting accuracy and compliance

Requirements:

  • CA(SA) qualification
  • Completed CA training contract/articles
  • Minimum 2–3 years’ post-qualification experience
  • Experience within a JSE-listed group environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS
  • Proven ability to think critically and understand the impact of accounting decisions on group consolidations
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Dynamic, proactive, and able to work independently

Advantageous Experience:

  • HFM (Hyperion Financial Management)
  • SAP or other ERP systems
  • Experience in mergers and acquisitions, including Purchase Price Allocations (PPAs)
