A well-established manufacturing business in Germiston is seeking a Cost Accountant to join its finance team.
This role is ideally suited to a candidate with a National Diploma in Cost Accounting and practical experience within a factory or manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of Bills of Materials (BOMs), inventory management, and manufacturing cost structures.
You will play a key role in analysing production costs, identifying efficiencies, and supporting management with accurate costing information to drive informed business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and continuously update Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure costing accuracy
- Conduct detailed variance analysis (actual vs standard costs) and provide meaningful insights to management
- Analyse material, labour, and overhead costs to identify inefficiencies and cost-saving opportunities
- Partner with operational teams to improve cost per unit and overall production efficiency
- Assist with inventory costing and stock-related financial analysis
- Support management reporting and manufacturing cost control initiatives
Requirements:
- National Diploma in Cost Accounting (essential)
- Experience working in a factory or manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of:
- Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Inventory and stock control
- Manufacturing costing principles
- Variance analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- ERP system experience required
- Syspro experience advantageous but not essential
