Financial Manager | Meyerton | R900 000 p.a.

An established South African SME specialising in construction, mining, infrastructure and civil engineering projects is seeking an experienced Financial Manager to join its team in Meyerton.

Founded before 2000, the company has grown into a prominent contractor delivering specialised projects across Africa. Its capabilities span turnkey projects from inception through to completion, including bulk earthworks, structural steel, piping and mine rehabilitation.

This opportunity offers exposure to a diverse portfolio of large-scale infrastructure and engineering projects within an organisation that places a strong emphasis on reliability, safety and quality.

The company’s current Financial Manager is retiring, creating an opportunity for an experienced finance professional to take responsibility for the finance function and work closely with the CEO.

Key Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the financial management function
• Supervise and support a team of two Accountants / Bookkeepers
• Provide accurate financial information and reporting to the CEO
• Work closely with management to support the financial requirements of the business
• Support the finance requirements of projects operating across different locations
• Maintain effective financial controls and processes

Requirements

• Proven experience in a Financial Manager or similar senior finance position
• Strong financial accounting and management capabilities
• Previous experience supervising or managing a finance team
• Ability to manage and develop a team of two Accountants / Bookkeepers
• Strong communication skills and confidence reporting directly to the CEO
• Comfortable working within an entrepreneurial SME environment
• Exposure to construction, engineering, mining, contracting or project-based environments would be advantageous
