A large and successful project management and construction company is seeking an experienced Financial Manager to join its finance team in Boksburg.
With extensive experience across the construction and project management sectors, the business offers the opportunity to work alongside highly skilled professionals within a dynamic and commercially focused environment.
Reporting directly to the Financial Director, this role is ideally suited to a finance professional with experience in construction, engineering, mining, project-based, or contracting environments.
About the Role
This is not a processing or transactional accounting position. The company is looking for a commercially minded finance professional who can take ownership of the finance function, identify issues, provide practical solutions, and deliver meaningful financial insights that support business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present management accounts independently
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support operational and strategic decisions
- Ensure compliance with VAT and PAYE requirements
- Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities for improvement
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
- Maintain strong financial controls and reporting processes
- Partner with management to provide commercially relevant financial information
Requirements:
- BCom degree or similar qualification
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant accounting experience
- Proven experience preparing management accounts independently
- Strong understanding of VAT and PAYE compliance
- Experience with Sage 300 or a similar ERP system
- Experience within construction, engineering, mining, project-based, or contracting environments would be advantageous
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of the finance function
