Financial Controller | Management Accountant (Regional) | Sandton | R600 000 p.a.

A multinational group based in Sandton is seeking an experienced Financial Controller / Management Accountant to join its regional finance team.

This is a regional role involving limited travel to branches within Gauteng.

About the Role

This is an accounting role rather than a bookkeeping position. You will need to be comfortable taking responsibility for month-end reporting, forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, and other core financial accounting functions.

Previous experience within manufacturing or FMCG is essential, together with a good understanding of stock and inventory. When visiting regional branches, you will need to understand stock processes and be confident identifying and investigating variances.

Key Responsibilities

• Finalise month-end reporting
• Prepare forecasts and budgets
• Perform variance analysis
• Complete General Ledger reconciliations across the entire balance sheet
• Maintain fixed asset registers
• Review and understand stock variance sheets
• Participate in fixed asset stock takes
• Manage VAT requirements
• Prepare year-end audit packs
• Support the financial management of regional branches
• Travel occasionally to branches within Gauteng

Requirements

• Solid financial accounting experience
• Previous experience within a manufacturing or FMCG environment
• Strong understanding of stock and inventory
• Experience preparing budgets and forecasts
• Strong variance analysis capabilities
• Experience completing full balance sheet and GL reconciliations
• Knowledge of VAT, fixed assets, and year-end audit requirements
• Ability to work at an accountant / management accounting level rather than purely transactional bookkeeping
• Willingness to undertake limited travel within Gauteng
