Accountant | Khayelitsha, Cape Town | R400 000 per annum

A well-established and successful retail group, with head office in Johannesburg, is seeking an Accountant to be based at one of its Cape Town stores.

This role is ideal for a candidate with retail or FMCG experience who enjoys being involved in both finance and operations. This is not a desk-bound, purely transactional accounting role – the position requires someone who is commercially aware, hands-on, and comfortable working within a store environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Full accounting function within the store environment

• Reporting to the Financial Manager

• Meeting head office reporting deadlines using SAP and Pastel

• Active involvement in stock takes and inventory management

• Participation in operational processes and risk management

• Supporting financial controls and compliance within the store

Requirements:

• Relevant degree (essential)

• Minimum 3 years’ accounting experience

• Retail or FMCG experience (highly advantageous)

• Working knowledge of SAP and/or Pastel

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work within structured reporting timelines

• Comfortable working in an operational, fast-paced environment
